"I was talking to the coach this morning and said he can't wait for each session. He said the kids are great, almost like one big family. He is really enjoying this program. Although our coach has several kids in this program that have participated in other programs with him in the past, we have a lot of new kids that are participating with him for the first time in the Ready, Set, Run. I believe we are reaching a different group of children and filling another recreational need with this program by helping them to be active and learn many values while having fun." - RSR Coordinator
All you need to participate in Ready, Set, Run is a Coordinator, Coach, and a group of kids aged 8-13 years old. We would love to make the program work for your particular needs. Contact us and we’ll figure out how to get your kids running! ReadySetRun@nays.org
Some examples of great potential Ready, Set, Run sites include: Park & Recreation Associations, Boys & Girls Clubs, Independent Youth Sport Organizations, Army, Navy, Marine, and Armed Force bases, Homeschool groups, youth running clubs, YMCAs, afterschool clubs, and many more.
Why bring it to your community?
Generate revenue: NAYS charges a set amount per participant who receives a manual, t-shirt, etc. Youth sport program providers can charge any rate you choose.
Change lives: You aren’t just coordinating kids in a running program; you are changing kids’ lives! Our goal is to help kids love themselves more through accomplishing a goal and learning about the power that is within them.
Goodwill: With the current national focus on childhood obesity, this is a great way to get kids active AND equip them with the tools they need to stay physically and mentally healthy.
National ties: Your community is included in a national movement we are spearheading towards challenging kids to make healthy choices. Your community will be featured on our national running website where your kids will see their hard work recognized alongside kids across the country.
Turn-key: Youth sport program providers are provided with a Coordinator Manual/Coach Handbook and each participant will receive a Participant Manual/Workbook that takes them through the 12-week training process.
Public image: This program appeals to all: medial love the concept, parents love the character building & physical training and kids have a BLAST!
What do I need to run the program in my community?
All you need is a point person, an area for kids to practice, and some excitement! The program is turn-key, so the Coordinator will receive a manual that takes them through a step-by-step process: registration to promotion to completion. Each program also receives Coach’s Manuals and Participant Workbooks.
